EAP Counselor
Job Overview

Under general direction, the clinician provides comprehensive patient care, including assessment, short-term treatment, and case management. This role involves guiding clients through appropriate resources, providing referrals, and consulting with supervisors to ensure effective care. The clinician also participates in critical incident stress debriefings, maintains accurate records, and stays current with professional trends and community resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct assessments and provide short-term treatment and case management for assigned client caseloads.

  • Offer referrals to community resources and fee-for-service options tailored to client needs.

  • Maintain confidential client records and document statistical data related to caseload management.

  • Stay informed on the availability, quality, and trends of community resources and the counseling profession.

  • Maintain required licensure and/or certification to practice in Kentucky.

  • Provide consultation to supervisors regarding formal referrals, complex cases, and support for employees in distress.

  • Conduct onsite critical incident stress debriefings as needed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of the organization.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

  • Licensed to practice in Kentucky (clinicians under supervision may be considered).

  • Strong interpersonal and human relations skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Competence in counseling, advising, and decision-making.

  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

  • Willingness to work effectively in stressful or challenging situations.
